“One can examine this material repeatedly, analyse the medium critically and one can work on and use individual sequences. Every time a tape is re-recorded, however, something gets erased or discarded, in other words, one has to take one’s leave of it.” The Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía is screening his most recent piece Disturbed Places - Five Variations on India (2007), which presents five states of mind during a tour of India. Apparently unconnected, they are interrelated by the repetition and transformation of motifs and characters. Also being shown are Dialogue between East and West (1978), Ya tienen asiento (1988), a video produced by the Reina Sofía, and Male Story 2 (2005).
