Museo Situado organises, in collaboration with the Museo Reina Sofía’s Conservation and Restoration and Artwork Registration Departments, a new edition of the Course on Handling, Packing, Transporting and Installing Cultural Heritage Artefacts. The aim is to give people with migrant life stories from Madrid’s Lavapiés neighbourhood some insight into how artworks are handled and exhibitions are installed.

This training course is held in different places inside the Museo and participants will also visit a specialised company in the sector. It encompasses theoretical-practical content related to the operation of artwork storage facilities and different museum resources used for exhibiting these pieces, as well as the knowledge of different professionals participating in design and installation processes, and the working protocols and internal operations of companies specialised in transporting cultural artefacts.

The sessions, conducted by conservation, restoration and artwork handling professionals, look to broaden knowledge on the work developed inside the Museo and day-to-day tasks carried out in relation to the Collection, in addition to opening possible new horizons for students.
