Museo Reina Sofía joins up with Red Interlavapiés (The Interlavapiés Network) to organise a small Spanish Language School for migrant residents in the Community of Madrid who require knowledge and use of the local language as a tool for day-to-day communication, work and involvement in society.  

Museo Situado organises the School of Rights, coordinated by Red Interlavapiés (the Interlavapiés Network) in order to build a collective space of information, advice and community legal support to deal with the rights violations migrant people face on a daily basis.

Propelled jointly from Museo Situado and the Museo Reina Sofía’s Education Area, in collaboration with intercultural mediators Hanan Dalouh Amghar and Marlene Gildemeister, The School of Situated Mediation is a project which sets out to reflect upon the notion of “the situated” applied to cultural mediation and research into alternative practices of mediation which are mindful of the specific local context of the Museo: the Lavapiés neighbourhood.
