Chema Madoz

Objects 1990 – 1999

This catalogue reflects the exhibition devoted to the photographic work of Chema Madoz, identified during the 1990s for its treatment of objects that is laden with irony and as a political and metalinguistic reflection of reality. The differing degrees and strategies of intervention on the object, its relationship to the Bretonian concept of “the marvellous” and the creation of visual analogies (in light of the history of photomontage and collage) are the main focal points of the essays included here.
