Spain 1905-1977

This catalogue gathers research on photobooks conducted over a number of years by the Museo’s Collections Department, a study which has also sparked a rereading of the history of photography in different countries. photobooks. Spain 1905–1977 explores the history of Spanish photography in 134 photobooks, many of them monographs and virtually unknown, despite the relation they bear to circumstances of collective magnitude such as the Spanish Civil War. Based on this careful selection, a journey is put forward through the evolution in Spain of a genre which is at once editorial and visual.
