Is the War over?

Art in a Divided World (1945-1968)

This volume is published in conjunction with the realignment and presentation of the Museo Reina Sofía Collection in the period spanning 1945–1968, and takes a closer look at the theoretical pillars that inspire this new arrangement. It opens with a programme text centred on its discourse, as an exercise to interpret and interpellate the new display, followed by two chapters: “Transversal Surveys”, with essays on the concepts that run through its new structure (the object, the grotesque, Anti-poetry); and “Case Studies”, featuring essays on neo-realist photography, Lettrist film, the political activity of Stampa Popular, and ‘the adventure of the real’ in the work of Alberto Greco.
